Bath Copies is a new service for requesting electronic copies of journal articles and book chapters that the University of Bath Library has in its print collections (subject to Copyright restrictions). The scanned copies are emailed directly to you.

The service is open to all students and staff of the University of Bath, and those registered on franchised courses of the University. The Bath Copies service is also available to External Members of the Library.

Article requests are charged at a flat rate of £3. You can make several requests at once and can expect delivery of the scanned chapter(s)/article(s) within 2-3 working days.

Shhhhhh!  Due to popular demand and at the request of the Students’ Union, the Library has agreed to increase its quiet study areas for this revision/exam time.  ALL of the upper floors (3, 4 and 5) will be quiet study areas from next Monday 10th May until the end of semester- and that includes the PC areas!

Pubget “is a search engine for PDFs in the life sciences. We index nearly 20 million life science research documents, including those in PubMed®.” It has similar aims to ELIN, eliminating the need to navigate through publishers’ and others’ websites to get to the full text of articles. It has now been set up with our holdings, openURL resolver and EZproxy server so it facilitates access to our subscriptions.

It seems very neat for viewing latest issues of journals. It doesn’t have powerful search capabilities, but a browser toolbar button (PaperPlane) allows you to search in Pubmed and quickly link to the PDF in Pubget.

Feedback on this resource would be very welcome!
